Jeremy is a Professor in the School of Physics. His research is in the area of remote sensing and radiative transfer in planetary atmospheres. While much of this work relates to the atmospheres of other planets, he also has significant projects relating to measurements in the Earth atmosphere relevant to climate change. He has developed a new type of spectrometer for the measurement of the greenhouse gases carbon dioxide and methane, and has a prototype instrument currently taking regular measurements from UNSW campus.
