During her master’s degree project, Yue investigated ocean-atmosphere interactions and their role for monsoon variability.  In particular, she was interested in the mechanisms controlling the Asian-Australian monsoon system, the Tropospheric Biennial Oscillation (TBO), and their relationship with the Indian and Pacific SST variability.

Yue’s current project is aimed at understanding, evaluating and improving the performance of a coupled climate model in representing the Maritime Continent region in terms of its rainfall and convection variability and examining the effects of local processes (e.g. mesoscale oceanic processes) and teleconnections (e.g. ENSO and IOD) on the climate of this region.
